LVCCDS Year-End Awards and Rules

REQUIREMENTS

 

Award Year: (New for 2010) is October 1 - September 30.

Membership Year: December - December.

 

Membership – Required **

Type - Chapter Membership of the California Dressage Society.

 

Rider membership in CDS is required in order to compete in CDS approved and rated competitions.

 

** LVCCDS Rider membership (CDS membership) required in order to qualify for LVCCDS schooling show and rated show Year End Awards.

 

LVCCDS Horse Registration/ID – NO *

 

LVCCDS Horse Registration is not required to compete in LVCCDS schooling shows.

 

* A USDF and USEF Horse Registration/ID number is required for all CDS/USDF/USEF rated competitions.

  

 

AWARDS & RULES 

 

Open Division – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at Training Level through Grand Prix

 

Open Division – Schooling Shows

-          Using scores from schooling shows at Introductory Level through Grand Prix

 

Open Division Freestyle – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at First Level through Grand Prix

 

Adult Amateur Division – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at Training Level through Grand Prix

 

 Adult Amateur Division – Schooling Shows

-          Using scores from schooling shows at Introductory Level through Grand Prix

 

Adult Amateur Division Freestyle – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at First Level through Grand Prix

 

Junior/Young Rider Division – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at Training Level through Grand Prix

 

 Junior/Young Rider Division – Schooling Shows

-          using scores from schooling shows at Introductory Level through Grand Prix

 

 Junior/Young Rider Division Freestyle – Rated Shows

-          Using scores from rated shows at First Level through Grand Prix


 

  

Rules

·        

Th The 2009 award year is from 1 January 2009 to 30 November 2009. The 2010 award  year is October 1 – September 30 (Changed by the LVCCDS Board at the 09/22/09 Board Meeting to coincide with the CDS award year.) For 2009 the October and November recognized shows will count toward the 2009 and 2010 award year.

Th The rider must be a LVCCDS member at the time the scores are earned.

·        

 A  An award is for the rider/horse combination. Awards are limited to one rider/horse combination per division and per type of show (Rated or Schooling).

·        

Th The rider/horse combination must have 2 scores from 2 different shows and from 2 different judges at the same level and same type of show.

 

To To be eligible for an award the average score must be 50% or higher.

·        

 If  If the combination competes at more than one level, they will be eligible for an award at each level shown.

·        

In  In the event the same rider/horse combination earns the highest average at both types of shows, the rated show shall take precedence and be the one awarded.

·        

Ra Rated shows must be CDS recognized and take place in the Las Vegas area for the scores to be used for the determination.

·        

Sc Schooling shows must be a LVCCDS show or an independent show and take place in the Las Vegas area for the scores to be used for the determination.

 

ThThe rider/horse combination with the highest average will be awarded the championship, the second highest average will be awarded the reserve championship.

 

Aw Awards will be presented to the winners during the awards ceremony at the Year-End Banquet.

 

Re Results will be posted on the LVCCDS website. The scores from all the shows will be collected by the awards committee and tabulated as follows:

 

Th The rider’s 2 top scores of the level/type of show will be used to determine their average. The highest score from two different judges and two different shows are averaged together to form the median score.

 

AllAll tests of the level will be considered when tabulating the combination’s highest scores.

             

In  In the event of the 2 highest scores average create a tie for any two combinations the winner will be   based on the combination with the single highest score.
